فلنج گلودار فولادی از جمله اتصالاتی است که جهت ارتباط خطوط انتقال به یکدیگر و یا شیر آلات صنعتی و لرزه گیرها و … به لوله ها استفاده می گردند. نوع فلنج بسته به فشار کاری و جنس آن مشخص می گردد. همچنین فلنج ها باعث تغییر قطر لوله و یا مسدود کردن آنها نیز می شوند.

فلنج گلودار فولادی مناسب برای محیط های با فشار بالا و دماهای زیر صفر می باشد. همچنین زمانی که سیستم دارای ارتعاش و یا نوسانات بالا می باشد نیز می توان از این نوع فلنج استفاده نمود.
گردن مخروطی آن به لوله (اندازه قطر لوله و گردن فلنج گلودار مساوی است) جوش می خورد. همین امر باعث افزایش تحمل فشار فلنج گردیده است.

فلنج گلودار فولادی جوش داده شده فولادی ریختگی در کلاس های فشار مختلف موجود هستند (مانند ANSI 150، 300، 600، و غیره). کلاس فشار، ضخامت فلنج و قطر دایره پیچ را تعیین می کند و اطمینان می دهد که می تواند با خیال راحت فشار کاری مورد نظر را تحمل کند. رایج ترین نوع فیس، Raised Face است که سطح اتصال دقیقی برای واشر فراهم می کند. همچنین مناسب برای در برخورد بودن با مواد شیمیایی خورنده و تغییرات شدید دما می باشد.
