شیر خلا شکن فلنجدار چدنی میراب یکی از تجهیزات کلیدی در سیستم‌های انتقال آب و نیروگاه‌های آبی است که وظیفه‌ی مدیریت حجم بالای هوا در خطوط لوله را بر عهده دارد. این شیر همچنین با نام شیر هوای دیسکی نیز شناخته می شود و از لحاظ کارکرد، در محل‌هایی که نیاز به ورود ناگهانی حجم زیادی از هوا باشد، مانند بعد از محل نصب شیرهای شکستگی لوله، به‌کار گرفته می‌شود.

نحوه عملکرد:

  1. در شرایط عادی که فشار مثبت در خط لوله برقرار است، شیر به‌صورت کاملاً بسته باقی می‌ماند.
  2. هنگامی که به دلیل ترکیدگی لوله یا خروج ناگهانی مقدار زیادی آب، فشار داخل خط به منفی ۰.۱ بار برسد، شیر شروع به باز شدن می‌کند.
  3. در فشار به ۰.۲- بار، شیر کاملاً باز و حجم زیادی از هوا به داخل لوله هدایت می‌شود تا از تخریب جداره‌های آن جلوگیری شود.
  4. با افزایش فشار در خط و رسیدن به شرایط عادی، شیر به‌طور خودکار بسته می‌شود.
  5. برای جلوگیری از ضربه‌ی ناگهانی (ضربه ی قوچ) و کاویتاسیون آسیب احتمالی به لوله، سیستم مجهز به پیستون و سیلندر پنوماتیک فنر‌دار جهت تنظیم سرعت بسته شدن است.
